Bowling Green, Kentucky – April 7, 2014 – Selections from Side by Side is an exhibit of artwork created by K-12 students with disabilities and professional artists in communities from across Kentucky, now on exhibit at the Cave City Tourism and Convention Center, 502 Mammoth Cave Street in Cave City, Kentucky. The exhibition is free and open to the public during Convention Center hours or operation from April 1 – June 30, 2014.
Side by Side is a statewide program of VSA Kentucky funded in part by WHAS Crusade for Children. The program offers students with disabilities a series of art classes and the opportunity to work one-on-one with a professional artist from their own community. Together they create collaborative artworks that are then displayed in a public exhibition at a gallery or museum.
Currently there are Side by Side programs in Bowling Green, Edgewood, Murray, Lexington, Louisville, Prestonsburg and Somerset. Many thanks to the regional organizations whose partnerships with VSA Kentucky make the Side by Side program possible.
