Innovative Supports for Autistic Workers is seeking consultants for a training project related to autism and employment. Candidates should be Kentucky residents 18 years of age or older, autistic/on the autism spectrum, and have experience with working OR seeking employment. In order to help potential employers understand the needs and challenges of autistic workers, we are looking for diversity along the lines of gender, age, race, ethnicity, orientation, and presence or absence of other disabilities.
If you are autistic and interested in working with us, please fill out the application at the link below. Ten consultants will be chosen based on applications received. You will be paid for your time ($50 for an interview lasting from 45-90 minutes, plus travel if you are coming from outside Lexington.) Applications will be taken through the end of January, 2017.

Community Living in Kentucky (CLiK) is seeking an ABA Therapist in many South Central and Western KY counties. ABA Therapist is responsible for providing one-on-one interventions to children or adolescents in the home, school, day care, or other community setting. He/she must be a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) with minimum 1 year experience preferred. Must be willing to provide services through private insurance companies. Specific services include: direct instruction utilizing principles of Applied Behavior Analysis and Verbal Behavior, implementation of Behavior Support Plans, Social Skills training, data collection, collaboration with other team members serving each student and support to school personnel.

The target audience consists of parents, caregivers, family members, professionals, staff, and students.
The goal of the conference is to connect members of the special needs community with one another, provide valuable information and strategies on working with individuals and children with special needs, and provide information on community resources and services. The keynote speaker, Dwayne Ballen, is a TV journalist and author of a book called “Journey with Julian”. He will speak on Autism: A Father’s Perspective.
